ABOUT WORLDSPREADS

WorldSpreads is a financial services company founded in 2000. It offers a range of services to retail clients, specifically Spread Trading and CFDs. Trailing Stops

A trailing stop order is a stop order that follows the direction of the market. If the Trading price rises then the stop rises as well and is placed for a higher sum. If the Trading market is in a downtrend then the trailing stop locks its profits to prevent unnecessary losses.

Contingent Order

A Contingent or ‘If Done’ order is an order that is not activated until another separate order is executed. The contingent order facility enables you to attach orders to an already existing order so that you do not have to watch the markets at every moment of the day.

Be both Long and Short in the same market

Like it says on the tin - the ability to have a position in both directions in the same market, for example Sell 12 DOW then buy 8 DOW if you don’t mark your trade as hedging this would create one position of selling 4 DOW.

If you mark hedging this will lead to both positions running at the same time.

We used to have an account with WorldSpreads but around 6 months ago we withdrew our funds and closed the account.

WorldSpreads used to have a pretty good advantage as it's spreads were more competitive than the majority of the rest of the market. In fact in some areas they still offer the best spreads in the market.

However, where they let us down was with execution (order fills). Sometimes we were filled at the wrong levels and sometimes we were left waiting for quite some time for our orders to be filled. On occasion we waited more than 10 minutes for a fill according to the chart, this was not just once but more common than we liked.

Fills were not as per their charts (our charts are indicative (fair enough we suppose)). However, this was the biggest bug bear, especially when waiting for a fill, as per the chart.

More and more so, other brokers are honoring execution as per their charts, they are filling orders quicker and now have spreads in-line with (or almost) WorldSpreads. Many have much better functionality, better Order options, better Trailing stop functionality, more comprehensive Charting, etc. Some of the reasons we decided to re-allocate our funds.

Used Worldspreads a while ago, at the time I was trying swing trading so immediate fills wasn`t really an issue.

Used their free money back offer and got my money returned without a problem.
