I love MFGlobalSpreads. I use it mainly for FX because they offer stake of only 0.2£/pt!
Easy to fund your account (call with a Debit Card, bank transfer) and to withdraw money by email.
Spreads are good, and trading platform is excellent, no requotes.

For me, the only missing features is the alerts: there are no alert system availabel yet.

I'll start with the downsides....

- Initially I found their ordering procedure quite laborious and over-complex (but the plus point is it really makes you think what numbers you're putting in!)
- Also I do find their slippage can be anything between 2-4 points (for stocks... not Forex.)
- Graphs are not there to help you! Even when used alongside professional charting it makes the procedure longer than it needs to be (and having to flick between seperate bid and ask) and can wreaks havoc with my risk/reward calculations…

Due to the first 2 points they're only ideal for EOD stock trading IMO

Now for the good parts
- They make accounting very transparent, so if you're into keeping a strict trade diary you'll like these guys. They don't crystalize your orders each night - they just close the markets and everything stays as it should. I can easily see what price I was opened, on which date, who opened it, what my stop-loss/limit etc. and all on the same page! I only really appreciated this when I tried City Index and discovered it’s very hard to monitor the numbers as they credit/debit each order into your P/L every day!
- Customer support’s very friendly and helpful - the phone never seems to ring more than twice before being picked up, and all my requests have been promptly dealt with.
- Withdrawing money is a breeze... no ifs or buts... money is promptly debited to my account within 24hrs (working days)

So for me the good bits cancel out the bad (minus the charting!), providing I only use them for EOD stocks. Slippage is not too much of an issue if you're holding a position for several days, and if I’m being ripped off by a few pips here and there it’s nice to see by how much, so I can adjust my style accordingly to beat them in the long-run (which is the aim of the game right?)

I’ll give them an extra point when they finally release the iPhone app

MF Global are now in administration.
There seems to be some claims that the US parent company has misused clients funds
I am hoping that the UK arm has conducted business according to the FSA regulations and that clients funds are safeguarded, but all the company websites are now offline.
I have a significant amount of money in my spread betting account and can only hope that my funds will be returned.

KPMG have been appointed as administrators and all traders who have an account with MF Global should contact them as soon as possible to make a claim.

Thanks for sharing this information with us - Luckily we have no funds with them and as you point out - Lets hope the FSA are on top of this and that clients funds are ring-fenced as they should be.

I really hope so Review Team, I am feeling very sick at the mo because the money that I stand to lose is the expenses for one year of my life.
I opened an account with this broker because it is FSA regulated and I expected my funds to be safe. Now I am not so sure.

That really is serious - The fact that it is FSA regulated should, in our opinion, be treated more as a given than an expectation - We will be extremely keen to hear how you get on.
