Perusing your reviews more widely, I see great mileage in this web facility, it could be a cracking product. You do need to soup up the interface - comes across a touch amateurish, like you patched it up out of card and tape if you'll pardon me for saying.
Apply a spot more rigour to the processes and disciplines of review, and you will have a very valuable site.
Risk of influence from affiliated sites is the big concern, and a simple undertaking not to be influenced only goes so far in counteracting it. Risk grows as site becomes more successful.
Second problem is bogus replies plugging their system. All posts saying 'I got this great return using this system' are frankly worthless. On the other hand, all replies saying 'I am going to put this trade on' which are then followed by 'it made me money' are valuable, but only if the 'it lost me money' replies are also posted.
You guys would boost your credibility with some guidelines of this kind.
Other tips are:
Keep a detailed running log of a system - a page we punters can log on to which shows the running successes and failures. Punters will be able to keep a close eye on the page to verify there are no post-hoc edits to improve the appearance of success, and it would provide a valuable verification tool.
At that point, you really should be charging for access since if the system does work, putting it in the public domain so readily will in principle negate its value (free market and all that).
Finally, the website is hard to navigate. I couldn't even find the forum main page after navigating away from it. Bit of work to be done.
But cracking effort, and I wish you all the best of luck.

Re: First Impressions
Hi Simon,
Thanks for the comments, will try and address each of them.
Re: the interface, etc. None of us unfortunately are very technical and we have just used the standard vBulletin forum package, actually we thought we had done quite well. We would be more than happy to change things for the better if anyone can tell us in dummy form what to do, especially to improve navigation if it is a concern.
Reviews. We do have to tread a fine line here and be as diplomatic as possible. The aim is to give an initial overview based on limited exposure, not to be judge and jury.
Affiliation. As you are aware, where possible we create an affiliation and we do not hide this fact. If, after reading a review, people wish to purchase the product we do ask you use our link as we then use those funds to purchase other products. We will never post a favourable review for any financial reward from anyone, no matter how big we grow.
Re: Running logs. The only time we can do this is when it is a System or Service we actually trade. In this instance we do post our trades/updates, see BOM Signals and LMT. We also invite others to post journals where they are trading a system/service so others can benefit from their personal experience of a product. We hope this will grow as the site grows as it is the true test of any product.
Charging. Our intention is to never charge for this service. At present it is something we manage to do and maintain in our spare time and we feel like we are giving something back to the industry, a much needed service in our opinion.
Posts. We moderate every single post and like with our reviews, we feel our experience will allow us to make reasonable calls on what is sensible and what is not. This site will be on-topic and will be one visitors want to come back to for sensible reviews and follow up posts, we will endeavour to ensure it.
Lastly, thanks for your posts, it is posts like this that will make the site a success.

Hope I didn't come across too critical. I think you've begun a great platform, and I look forward to seeing it grow. Very best of luck, I'll be telling folk about it.

Re: enthusiast
Not at all, all comments and suggestions are most welcome as we really need them to succeed. It will be input and comments from the collective that eventually make this site the one that we all turn to when considering trading systems and services in the future.
We appreciate your input and you spreading the word.

Hello,
I think that this forum is pretty good except for one thing.
When I am looking at the forum thread list or new posts, there doesn't seem to be a button to go to the first unread post. There is one to go to the last post, but not the first unread. This would be so useful and is available on most other forums.
Is it possible to add it?
Thanks

Hi Forexample,
Have looked into this and it's not obvious - If anyone does know how to do this would be much appreciated - We have also asked our "geek" friend to have a look when he gets a chance.ReviewTeam - www.systemsfortraders.com
