WHAT IT SAYS ON THE WEBSITE
“Profitable Trading Signals & Trading Systems Or Your Money Back” is a headline we do not see very often.
There are actually two services provided by EOD Trading Signals, a (standard) Forex option and a Financial betting (Fixed Odds) option. For the purposes of this review we only had access to the Fixed Odds signals. These signals claim to provide clear instruction on what to do “no guesswork, no interpretation and consequently no stress”. There is also mention of “Trading systems” on the website but they are not yet currently available.
The instruments traded are the DOW, NasDaq, Dax, FTSE and Forex. Expected returns are at least 20% - 25% per signal and “if you traded aggressively and re-invested all your winnings you could trade £1,000 up to almost £5,000 in 6 months”. Signals are sent at either 11:00, 15:00 or 23:00 UK time, Monday to Friday. They are simple to place (on the BetOnMarkets platform), no special software or knowledge is required and after the trade is placed no further action is required.
The Platinum service trades about twice as much as the Bronze service, 8 and 4 times a month respectively. Performance history for each service is provided on the website.
The service is available at a 90% discount for the 1st month.
THE SERVICE
We have had access to the Platinum service since January 2011 which has typical returns of 25% - 90% per trade and trades, on average, 8 times a month. The cheaper service is the Bronze which has typical returns of 25% - 35% per trade and trades just 4 times a month.
Signals are delivered as per the website commentary, Monday to Friday, around 11:00, 15:00 or 23:00 (the majority of the signals we received came through at 15:00). The signals are simple to interpret, execute and are Set & forget. Those with no prior exposure to Fixed Odds trading will of course have a small learning curve.
Our results this year to date (January – March inclusive) are:
• January, 8 trades, 6 winners and 2 losers – Average return per trade 41% - Monthly profit = +1%
• February, 9 trades, 6 winners and 3 losers – Average return per trade 54% - Monthly loss = -4%
• March, 5 trades, 2 winners and 3 losers - Average return per trade 34% - Monthly loss = -11%
This is a net loss of -14% for 2011 Year To Date and is based on risking the recommended 5% of capital per trade. The average holding period per trade was about 14 days.
Note: There are 3 trades from March which have not yet expired, as and when they do we will post revised results.
Like the other Fixed Odds Signal Service review this month (Fixed Odds Success Review) this service has suffered due to surprise world events – Such as Uprisings, Invasions, Earthquakes, Etc.
We have committed to monitoring this service for the next 3 months, providing monthly updates and, eventually, a 6 month view. Again, this is in the hope we see a more stable world, trading environment and ultimately, more stable returns.
Finally, a note on the guarantee, which we looked into. The caveat is “We guarantee each quarter will have more winning bets than losers, and if any quarter doesn’t we’ll immediately give you your subscription fee back”. If we take January – March 2011 as Q1 2011 this means that although we actually made a loss (-14%) we would not have qualified for this guarantee. We had more winning bets (14) than losers (8) – So, this is a guarantee for sure, but to make it really worth anything more emphasis is required on the word “profitable”.
Note: Even if the 3 outstanding trades (for March) come in as winners, we would have 17 winners and 8 losers but still a net loss of -7% for the quarter.
SUPPORT
Very good and always within 24 hours.
CONCLUSION
PROs
• Very clear, easy to understand and execute.
• Set times for the signals (11:00, 15:00 & 23:00)
• Good support.
CONs
• Low Risk:Reward at, on average, 2 (ish) : 1 (e.g. £100 : £45/£50) – This is however better than most other Fixed Odds Signal services.
• Poor performance to date in 2011 (see our note on World events).
• Quite meaningless guarantee – Slightly better than none at all.

Good to see some profit on this one; once again, I'm thinking it's time to start learning to trade properly for my own account rather than seeking out signals gurus I'm afraid.

Re: EOD Trading Signals - Service Has Been Discontinued
Just had an email in from these guys (Richard Jay) - apparently it was parked over the summer but the service is back and improved now. 37 (test) trades so far, of which 2 losers; same intro offer, full list of trades on the website, Forex, Indices and Gold. Might be worth another sniff, although I get the impression the system or thinking behind it is changed so would it be a new review?

Re: EOD Trading Signals - Service Has Been Discontinued
Based on past results and the current Request back log, for now we will not be revisiting. Perhaps we can do so sometime next year once we see how "real" results fare.
