I am looking to put my FMT metatrader onto a VPS, can anyone recommend a good one based in the UK.

I use CNS - Commercial Network Services - they are independent and have very low latency for most UK brokers. I use the 'Online Traders - Value Edition' for $30 (about £22?) a month and it works very well, running 2 separate MT4 with about 15 charts between them, with 8 EAs and 5 Autofocus sessions. Great with SLM.

If you use FXCM and have a certain balance (£5k I believe) you can have free VPS via Boston Technologies, but I think there are limitations. Also, IamFX offers some sort of free VPS service. I personally prefer independent ones that are geographically in the UK, to minimise the possible issues. CNS have always given me good support. What I would add though that you don't necessarily need a Forex VPS, you might be ok with a different server firm (never risked it!) and also you should make sure you're making enough money to cover the cost of the VPS and growth otherwise it isn't worth the hassle.

My first adventure with VPS, and only had it 3 weeks, so can't vouch for longer term reliability, but I am using Thrust VPS. I don't rely on it yet - it is currently running a SLM demo account, but I have not had a problem so far. Option I am using is what they call Aquatic which provides 512MB ram and 15GB disc space. Price was my reason for choosing them, and at £4.79/month I thought I would give it a try. The base price was £5.95, but using discount code UKBLOWOUT you get a 33% discount, then adding VAT comes to £4.79.

I'm sure you get more bells & whistles included with the likes of CNS which may make life simpler. On first login, Windows 2008 installation was waiting to be started, which I did, then got stuck at the windows password, however their support staff quickly did that for me and all has been OK since. Only time will tell if it is just too cheap, but OK so far. Ping to SLM server is between 3 and 6 ms.

Hi Chiggy, if the bandwidth is fast enough and also Forex Trading reliable based, would you consider that even it's based in US?

Any updates on this guys? I'm still on CNS but am starting to wonder if a dedicated trading VPS is really necessary. The uptime is good and the ping etc are fine, but I'm not using high speed scalping bots or something clever.
