I am trying to set up an account using IG Index to trade FMT with. I have MT4 correctly configured for FMT using SmartLiveMarkets, but would like to use IG as the ability to use trailing stops is tempting.

The problem I am having is that, when I set the chart up using IG, I cannot get the values to match those in MT4.

This is my setup in MT4 (pretty standard for FMT I think):

The absolute values are different in IG and I can't see how to change anything to match my MT4 setup. Am I doing something obviously wrong? I notice that the shapes of the indicators between IG and MT4 are practically identical.

I know other people trade FMT using IG, perhaps someone could let me know how I set up my indicators. I currently can't get them to be anywhere the correct values.

Apologies for removing 2 of your screen shots, we just felt you gave too much of the strategy details away.

We did used to trade this off MT4 (for the signal) and then place the trades on IG which is particularly useful for it's trailing stop. We have never set it up on IG Index charts and traded off them directly although in theory this should be possible.

Perhaps you can do what we used to do (before we switched to SLM) - However, if you do manage to get this to work on IG then you will of course have to manually interpret the signal too.

Thanks for the advice guys and sincere apologies for the screenshots, it hadn't occurred to me how much they would illustrate the strategy. I'll carry on my search for a broker that uses MT4 and has trailing stops...

You are welcome and not a problem - We do believe there is some form of EA somewhere for trailing stops on MT4 but we have yet to have someone say - here's one and it works and it's 100% reliable.

Skillwill, no brokers offer the same trailing stops as IG with MT4 but see my posts here and here for some ways of replicating this in MT4. There are some free EAs out there (I think if you google 'Trade Manager EA') which will do all sorts of trailing stops etc, but as ReviewTeam says EAs are not always reliable or simple to use - you should try anything on a demo account first.
