This indicator was brought to our attention by Dave at Make Money On FX, we thank him for it as we use it on the majority of our MT4 charts now.

Description & Link

The indicator shows how far percentage wise a candle has progressed since opening. So, for example, when watching a 1 hour candle after 45 minutes the indicator will display 75%. Extremely useful when waiting to time an entry/enter an order on completion of the current candle. Download the indicator HERE.

Installation

Standard process - Close your MT4 platform (if open), put the candleprogress.ex4 file into c:/Program Files/xxxxxx/Experts/Indicators/ directory

xxxxxx = Your MT4 platform directory, e.g. Smart Live MetaTrader

Restart your MT4 platform then add the indicator as you would any other, e.g. Click - Insert, Indicators, Custom, Candleprogress.

Settings

We only changed 2 settings.

Corner - 0 seems to be Top left and 1 seems to be Top right, we use Top right (1)

Distance - Our default was 250, we preferred 20

Thats it, but please note, Fontcolor will also need changing depending on your Chart background, for example Fontcolor White will be pointless on a Chart with a White background.

Interesting - do you use it to support a particular system?

We just find it useful for say FMT, where you enter on close of the current candle, shows how close you are. Same applies to LFO where orders are entered on close of the current candle when we are looking just before 08:00, gives us an idea of how long is left.

No real strategy for it, we just find it useful and hoped by sharing others would too.

It's good. I've put it on all of my charts. Really helps on entries at close of candle.
