Journal - DOW Letter (NO LONGER UPDATED)
This thread will be a journal of our DOW Letter trades.
We have included our results from 2009 when we had access to this system for review purposes (September through December) and will continue to post throughout 2010.
September 2009, 1 trade, a loser, -60 points
October 2009, 5 trades, 3 winners and 2 losers, -25 points
November 2009, 2 trades, a winner and a loser, -25 points
December 2009, no trades
With an average stop loss of 60 and 5% risk per trade we made a net loss of 110 points (about 10%) in the 4 month period at the end of 2009.
It may seem strange to then add this to our "Services We Use" list but we are convinced, having looked at historic results that for a few minutes each evening that this service will be profitable in the long run. Of course, time and results will prove us right or wrong. See our full review here.
As always, any others with experience of this system, your input is welcomed.
Do remember, your comments are important, if you decide to purchase this service, please support us by using our link and by reporting back your findings, both are valuable to us and the service.

Journal - DOW Letter (January Interim Update)
Just a quick update, there has only been one trade so far this year, a winner.
UPDATE: We have had two additional trades in January, both winners, both for 35 points, so a net 105 points this month.
So, a nice profitable start, our results are as documented on the Dow Letter website.

DOW Letter Journal - January 2010
In January we had 3 trades and all trades hit target for a 105 point gain.
This means we are now just 5 points away from being in profit with this system after 5 months.
We are standing by our original decision to add this to our "Services We Use" list convinced that, based on historic results that for a few minutes each evening that this service will be profitable in the long run.

There has only been one trade so far in February and it was a good start, a winning trade last night for +35 points, we are now in profit with this service.
UPDATE (17-Feb): We had a losing trade yesterday for -60 pips so now back in the black on this service, but, as per our initial review our faith remains.
Results are as documented on the Dow Letter website.

DOW Letter Journal - February 2010
In February we had just 2 trades, a winner and a loser for a 25 point loss, about 3.5% based on 5% risk per trade.
This means we are now 30 points away from being in profit with this system after 6 months.
This is disappointing after earlier in the month moving into the black for the first time, but we will continue to be patient with this service which is on our "Services We Use" list. We are still convinced that, based on historic results that for a few minutes each evening that this service will be profitable in the long run.

DOW Letter Journal - March 2010
A rather slow month with just one trade in March but at least it was a winning trade and a profitable month.
A 30 point gain so a 2.5% profit based on 5% risk per trade.
So, it means we are now back to break-even point with this service after 7 months.
As always, we will continue to be patient with this service which is on our "Services We Use" list. We are still convinced that, based on historic results that for a few minutes each evening that this service will be profitable in the long run.

DOW Letter Journal - April 2010
DOW Journal trades remain few and far between with just two in April, however, both were winners for a net return of 65 points, thats a 5% profit based on 5% risk per trade and 60 points risk per trade.
So, it means we are now in profit with this service after 8 months of perseverance.

Coupl'a questions......
Hello, I had a couple of questions regarding this system...The "actual" Dow Index trades from 09:30 to 16:00 (NY Time) so what are you actually tracking after 16:00 ? I know the FUTURES (ie the e-mini Dow (YM) trades +/- 24 hours/day on the Globex) but the entry/exit figures don't match up . I'm just trying to figure out how and with what instrument we Yanks could use this system. Any ideas ??
Thanks

Couple Of Questions
Hi,
We trade the Wall Street Daily instrument on IG Index which we believe is the vehicle of choice for DOW Letter. In terms of what you could trade in the US we guess it would be a Future such as DOW e-mini as you suggest - but also as you suggest it's prices would not tie up with the continuous Wall Street Daily price for sure.
All we can suggest is you contact DOW Letter directly as they are, we guess, more than likely to have existing US customers. In the meantime we also welcome any US based members with experience of the service if they can cast any light on this subject.
Apologies we cannot be too helpful but hopefully between Dow Letter and this forum you will get your answer - appreciate you updating if you do.
