BOM SIGNALS
MONTHLY UPDATE - MAY 2009
All,
First of all, apologies for the late update this month. Secondly, I hold my head in shame - its the first time on a Year To Date basis that either service has been in negative territory.
Core Service
Only one trade this month, but again a winning one, 8 successful trades out of 8 this year. The website account is now showing a +18% gain. I remain on the look-out for these set-ups, however, it is still very much a case of caution and patience.
100% Club
With 8 wins and 10 losers this month the -10% performance brings us into -5% Year to date for the 100% Club. Embarassing on my behalf to say the least and completely my own fault for erring too much on the negative side of this recent Stock market rally. I took my eyes off the ball slightly and over-looked a couple of (common) rules, trade what you see (not what you feel) and the trend is your friend. Your gut feeling should not allow you to ever over-look these basic rules (note to myself, but one all of you who do trade can also take on board). Anyway, I do expect and accept losing periods, its part of the business we are all involved in and I remain optimistic I can get the service back into positive territory.
Round Up
The website will be updated this afternoon with the latest statistics but apart from that not much else to report this month. As always feel free to contact me with any thoughts, suggestions, queries, etc. and I will do my best to get back to you asap.

BOM Signals
Weekly Update (w/e 05-Jun-09)
All,
Not much to comment on this week really as the monthly update has just recently been sent out.
Core Service
No trades for a while but managed to get in on the AUD/JPY trade this morning, at present it is trading more or less around the same level as when the signal was sent out.
100% Club
From my records I have 2 winners and just 1 closed out so far this month. There are 5 open trades at present and as I look, 3 are in the black. So after a dissapointing (to say the least) May, June is off to a much better start.
So, not much else to say this week except, as usual I if anyone would like me to address anything specific, has any comments, recommendations, etc. please do get in touch with me.
I wish you all an excellent weekend,

BOM Signals - Weekly Update - w/e 12-Jun-09
BOM Signals
Weekly Update (w/e 12-Jun-09)
All,
A terrible week really, the first Core service loser of the year and the 100% Club running at break-even for the month. More on this below and also some new on BetsForTraders.
Core Service
Extremely annoying and frustrating, to say the least. Taken out the day before expiry and by just 7 pips (according to my charts), this extreme volatility was just too much for what I believed to be a very technically sound level for AUD/JPY. However, no point in complaining, a loss is a loss whether its by 1 pip or 100! I know some of you made up for some of this (and softened the blow somewhat) by taking the (Not quite) EUR/SEK trade which is looking reasonably safe at the moment. So, as always I will continue to look for Core service set-ups and will in no way be disuaded by one losing trade (that lost buy just 7 pips).
100% Club
4 wins and 4 losses this month to date, with 5 open trades. One is dead in the water and one is in the black. The three remaining trades, all slightly in the red, are, in my opinion, not too badly positioned to account for volatility and both positive or negative Stock market movements early next week.
BetsForTraders
From this point forward I will no longer be using BetsForTraders. There is not much more I can add to this at present other than, from now, until further notice all my trades will be placed with BetOnMarkets only.
So, apologies for the Core service losing trade, I do hope to make up for it, and I am also optimisitc we can get back from a losing net position Year to date with the 100% Club.
In the meantime, enjoy the rest of your weekend.

BOM Signals
Weekly Update (w/e 19-Jun-09)
All,
Sorry for the late update and it will be brief as I am very busy looking into the 100% Club (as I have been most of the weekend) and where to take it from here as frankly I am not satisifed with the recent performance. This is not so much related to my own personal lack of profits for my efforts (I know to expect periods like this), more so, that others (you) are not making (maybe even losing) money for their efforts either. I am personally content to carry on as it stands at present and will continue to do so and issue the signals (of trades I take) until I have completely reviewed the strategy and decide to take any appropriate actions. I will of course inform you of any change in strategy in advance, should this be the case. In the meantime, I offer my personal apologies for this recent performance.
Core Service
A quiet week indeed with no new trades and none expiring. There were no opportunities (not even potential). As with the EUR/SEK trade the other week I will endeavour to let people know of potential trades too, even if they do not quite fit the mold (is that the correct spelling!) of either service. Indeed, this was the case with the Barrier trade I took towards the end of last week and I know from your feedback that many of you (even though the bet type was new to you) took the trade too.
I just with to clarify one point here, as with the Core and 100% Club I will never ever issue any opportunity unless I have personally traded it on my own account, albeit with reduced exposure.
100% Club
7 losers and 6 winners, 1 trade in the black and 4 in the red as I look. The trade this morning was a hedge against the other open positions, which all favour a weaker stock market. That said though, at present, they are not reacting as strongly as I hoped based on the 1% or so drop in the markets this morning. However, there is still sufficent time for at least some of these to profit.
I will, all being well, have a little more to say in the monthly update.

BOM Signals - Monthly Update - June 2009
BOM Signals
MONTHLY UPDATE - JUNE 2009
All,
A monthly update I was hoping I would never have to write. Regrettably, for the first time ever, the two services between them are showing a net loss Year to date.
The Core service is showing a return of just under 13% with 8 winning trades this year and one losing trade.
The 100% Club this month has had 10 losers and only 7 winners (closed out) meaning a net 15% loss for the month. This, added to the current position of a 5% loss Year to date means the service is now showing a 20% loss Year to date.
Now, as many of you know, Fixed Odds is just one aspect of my trading, and the only one where I choose to share all of my trades with each and every one of you. However, as with all other aspects of my trading, if it stops working (e.g. I stop making money from it), I will take time out to reflect.
Recently, in terms of the 100% Club I feel like I have hit the wall, gone on tilt, call it as you like, and basically I need a break. Not only will I take a break from the 100% Club but also from the Core service, just to break the daily routine somewhat. So, next week there will be no signals for either service.
During this period I will be taking a step back from my Fixed odds trading screens. Towards the end of the week I will be reviewing my strategies and deciding how to progress onwards and upwards (all being well) with my Fixed odds trading. Besides, for some time, the Core service has given me reasonable growth (I compound and use this as a kinda little personal growth fund) and the 100% Club, which I use for a little bit of extra income, has provided just that. At present, I see no reason why I cannot get myself (and the service) back to that rewarding stage in return for very little effort each day.
I want to mention that over the last few weeks (of bad performance) I have had just one email of complaint about the services and their performance. In my opinion, this is quite extraordinary and I commend and respect all of you (bar one!). Periods of bad performance are part and parcel of trading and it seems we are all big enough and bold enough to accept this. So, my reason for mentioning this is, it's not pressure in any way from the service that has affected my decision to take a break. More so, its a personal decision for the good of my own Fixed odds trading, my own personal trading accounts and hopefully, at the end of the day, BOM Signals, of which you are all a part.
I really enjoy running this little service, it keeps me disciplined and I relish the interaction with all of my customers, many of which have now become, what I consider, personal friends.
Lastly, apologies to those of you, of which there are many, that are new to the services in the last few weeks or so. As with the majority of services of this nature, timing is important but cannot be predicted and unfortunately for you, you have joined during the worst performance period to date. The actions I am taking will hopefully mean this period is one that can be recovered from.
I know I always ask, but this month more than most, I would welcome all emails with your questions, suggestions, etc. It's these emails that help provide me with ideas and direction in how best the service can be improved.
On that note, I wish you all an excellent weekend, I am going away for the weekend away from computers and trading screens, so I will respond to your emails on Monday.
Thanks for your understanding, it's appreciated.

BOM Signals - Service Enhancements
BOM Signals
SERVICE ENHANCEMENTS
I just wanted to provide you all with a (lengthy, sorry) update following my "step back" from Fixed Odds trading for a week.
I would like to thank all of you that took the time to write an email, of which there were many. Thanks firstly, for all your support, secondly, for your understanding and lastly for your ideas and suggestions, all of which I have considered over the last week or so.
To summarise, I have decided to make a number of minor changes to my Fixed odds trading approach (upon which the BOM Signals service is based). The conclusion I reached was that what I am doing isn't really broke, so continue, in the main, with what I am doing.
Largely as a result of your input I have also introduced some changes not directly related to my Fixed odds trading approach, more so, to the service.
These enhancements may affect you in some way, some for the better, some for the worse, some not at all. However, they are ones I feel I needed to make and I did so with the service in mind so that hopefully the two can still work side by side as before.
I have attempted to detail all of the enhancements below.
TRADING STRATEGIES
My approach, analysis and inclusion of fundamental data in relation to trade selection has not changed at all.
Technically, I have made one minor adjustment to my charts, which I believe is for the better. In the main my approach, as many of you are aware is still based largely on Price action.
All in all, as mentioned above, having had a good amount of time to look-back, the strategies, in my opinion, are not broke, so don?t try and fix them.
SIGNAL TIMING
As you are all aware the Signal time-frame for both services used to be 07:00 - 08:30 (UK Local time). This will be changed so that there will now be two time-frames, one from 08:00 - 09:00 and the other from 18:00 - 19:00.
This provides me with integration and flexibility.
I typically start my non-Fixed odds trading day around 08:00 and don't usually take a trade until after 09:00 so it makes sense for me to start my Fixed odds trading around the same time. The original timing was a service based decision so now it is a personal one and ties in with the rest of my trading.
The second time-frame provides more flexibility. It now means that I can wait if the opportunities available in the 08:00 - 09:00 are not so great rather than having to take the "best of a bad bunch". The new 18:00 - 19:00 window I believe satisfies a number of criteria, it coincides with the time I am usually around (usually for my dinner) it is a big enough gap from the morning window to allow opportunities to develop and it's good timing for (most of) those who work 9 til 5 (in the UK).
Please note: as with the Core service at present, if there is no trade during a window, there will be no communication, e.g. I will not tell you if there is not a trade.
100% CLUB - NOT EVERY DAY
The aim of the 100% Club has been to take a trade every day and at the end of the month end up with more winners than losers and thus a profit. At times, because of this commitment I have taken "the best of a bad bunch" trade which I probably would not have done so without the "pressure" of the service.
With the flexibility of the new evening window, I do hope, more so, to still get a trade on every day. However, taking the view that I should never take a "best of a bad bunch" trade just to satisfy a service commitment, there may now be days when there is no 100% Club signal. Rest assured, the intention is still to have a trade every day, where possible, it's just that now, it will not be a constraint.
Please note: Again, if there is no trade during a window, there will be no communication, e.g. I will not tell you if there is not a trade. So, some days, you may receive no communication at all.
NON-SERVICE SIGNALS
Many have appreciated me sending signals of "other" trades, trades that don?t quite meet the criteria of a Core service trade or a 100% Club trade. They are trades that I have identified and placed on my own account albeit on reduced stakes. I do this because they do not fit in with a proven strategy (whereas Core and 100% Club trades do), they are mainly opportunities I come across when looking for Core and 100% Club trades.
Anyway, I have decided to continue to send these signals and from now on I will simply call them trades "NON-SERVICE SIGNALS".
SIGNAL NARRATIVE
Quite a number of you have requested that I provide a narrative for each signal I send, (my reasons for taking the trade). This is something I have done on a few occasions in the past, either at the time of sending the trade or, after the event, in a weekly or monthly update.
Each time I do this I get a substantial amount of emails querying my reasons, thoughts, actions, etc. It takes quite some time to not only answer specific queries but also, sometimes to explain my reasoning and my thinking as trading really is a personal thing developed over time and my reasoning and others can always be conflicting depending on ones view of things.
Mainly, for the above reasons, for now, I will not be including narrative as I simply don?t have the time to answer the follow up emails I receive. Apologies for this but at this moment in time, it is just not something I can consider entertaining.
EBOOK / SEMINAR / TRADING ROOM
I guess this subject is related to the previous in which a number of you have asked if maybe I would consider doing an eBook, Seminar, Trading room, etc. with the view of passing on my strategies in any way, shape or form.
As I mentioned above, trading (and a trading strategy) is a personal thing that one develops over time to suit ones own makeup. I can certainly pass on my strategies and how I approach Fixed Odds trading but it would by no means ensure that any one person would ever identify and trade the same trades as I did. It would however, in my opinion, provide a sound base with a set of proven strategies on which one could build and tailor to their own personal style and hopefully construct a profitable Fixed odds trading strategy of their own.
If I ever do something along these lines I feel it would need to be in the form of a controlled and limited seminar. However, right now, as this would take quite some time and organisation, and I have no idea of the size of audience, it is not on my radar. If demand and time allow it is something I may well consider in the future.
TWITTER
I have been running with Twitter (if you don?t know what Twitter is, where have you been!) now for a couple of months and I quite happy with the way it has gone. So, I will take this opportunity to announce it to all of you.
Follow me at http://twitter.com/BomSignals
Some people already use this as a back-up to the email service. All signals, in fact all communications, weekly and monthly updates (including this one), I send are also sent to Twitter at the same time (when I remember, which is usually always).
THAT?S ABOUT IT
So, to summarise:
- Minor change to strategy
- Two time-frames now
- Potential for a no-trade (100% Club) day
- Non-Service Signals to continue
- Twitter available as a back-up
So, maybe a bit of a boring come-back after a week off for reflection but one I feel will allow me to improve my Fixed Odds trading performance (and thus that of the service).
Again, thanks to all of you for your support and feedback.
I will be updating the website over the weekend to reflect these changes and also the June performance statistics.
I wish you all an excellent week-end and look forward to being back on Monday.
Do remember, your comments are important, if you decide to use this free service, please support us by using our link and by reporting back your findings, both are valuable to us and the service.

BOM Signals - Weekly Update - w/e 17-Jul-09
BOM Signals
Weekly Update (w/e 17-Jul-09)
All,
Firstly, apologies for no update last weekend I was just extremely busy on other things.
Core Service
One open trade, USD/JPY, playing big games with us. Like the 100% Club that expired in profit, again I am hoping this 94/94.50 level will hold, we have already seen this hold by a matter of pips this week. Will we be lucky if it holds, well, I guess as lucky as we were unlucky when the last Core service trade (AUD/JPY) that got taken out by a few pips with just one day to go. So, sorry for the nail-biting on this one but fingers crossed we see a sell off into the close and the level holds once again on Monday.
100% Club
I make it 6 wins and 4 losses this month with 4 trades open. Unfortunately all are in the black but once again I consider us to be reasonably placed for the potential continuation of volatility next week, and we need only one trade to win to be break-even.
A Couple Of Things
You may have noticed - I have now removed "Placed with BOM" on the signals as its now redundant.
An interesting point, pointed out by one of you and thanks. It is this, if there are no signals in the morning or the evening, no communication will be sent. However, and rightly so, if there is a valid signal in the morning and one in the evening, 2 signals will be sent.
On that note, I wish you all an excellent weekend.
Do remember, your comments are important, if you decide to use this free service, please support us by using our link and by reporting back your findings, both are valuable to us and the service.

BOM Signals - Weekly Update - w/e 24-Jul-09
BOM Signals
Weekly Update (w/e 24-Jul-09)
All,
Here is this weeks update. There will be an additional email following this one to let you know about a new, interactive service which I think all of you will be interested in.
Core Service
I was hoping that I was going to be saying we were lucky for a change with the USD/JPY trade open from last week, but again, like the previous losing trade this year, we were stopped out on the last day. Anyway, this loss has made me a liitle extra cautious and I will be doing my best to make sure the next Core service trade is a winner and hopefully isn't stopped out on the last day of trading.
100% Club
This month there have been 7 winning trades, 6 losing trades (I am assuming the open AUD/JPY trade expiring tonight will lose) and 3 open. Some of you may have noticed that my trading has again had a bias towards a correction (of the Stock markets). This week, incorrectly, I let the fundamental side of my trading interfere with the 100% Club, which is a 99% technical strategy. The extent of this rally has taken most people I know by surprise and I am no exception, and had I not let the fundamentals affect my trade selection we would be much better placed now, hindsight is wonderful.
Going forward in the short term, I will try and maintain an even balance as markets (stock) at these levels seem unjustifiable (to me). I must get back to trading with what the charts are telling me technically. So, apologies for my mistake but it has been made, noted, and, duely been corrected.
Follow Up Email
As mentioned above, there will be another email following this one (as its off topic). Me and the other guys involved in this new service, which is free, have put quite a lot of effort in to bring this service to the market. I dont usually ask for much, well I believe I don't, but I would personally appreciate it if you took an interest in this new service and signed up. Besides, if you have any interest in trading at all I am sure the site will be of benefit and interest to you.
I will still be looking for a signal this evening, however, if there is not one, I will take the chance now to wish you all an excellent weekend.
Do remember, your comments are important, if you decide to use this free service, please support us by using our link and by reporting back your findings, both are valuable to us and the service.

BOM Signals - Monthly Update - July 2009
BOM Signals
MONTHLY UPDATE - JULY 2009
All,
Quite a few different subjects to update you on this month:
- The service
- FREE Easy Trade Fixed Odds Streategy
- www.systemsfortraders.com
The Service
As with last month we had a losing trade on the Core service. And again, this trade was taken out on the last day of the trade, so after 8 winning trades in a row we have had 2 losers, "pipped" at the post on the last day. Rather unfortunate, and also rather painful to the account. So, apologies to all of you that followed that trade, like the previous 9 it was a well chosen trade and I assure you all others will be chosen in much the same manner.
The 100% Club is down 10% this month with 11 losers and just 9 winners (I am assuming the open AUD/USD trade from 24-Jul will expire at a loss tonight). I explained part of the reason for this in the weekly update last week, e.g. I let fundamentals get in the way of a technical strategy. And, as mentioned in that weekly update, I have had a few words with myself.
All being well, the website will be updated this weekend to reflect these latest performance figures.
It is worthy of note here that the majority of all signal services I am aware of are struggling recently. Although this is assurance in some form that I (we) are not alone in terms of a recent bad patch, it seems most traders (offering a service) are finding some degree of difficulty in these markets. It doesn't mean we shouldn't return to profitability before them.
FREE Easy Trade Fixed Odds Strategy
Those of you that haven't yet done so can still get your free copy of this strategy, written by me. I do use this strategy, it takes very little effort, and I know a number of others out there that are already using it. One trader is showing 3 winning trades (see below) so far with no losers (and they are almost exactly the 3 trades I took on my own account). Details are on the website - Home.
www.systemsfortraders.com
This is another free service I am involved in, details were sent out last weekend. I know some of you have joined in and are appreciating the service and I thank you for that. To those that haven't, please do support us by signing up, it's all completely free, and do find the time to post in the forums, your input is invaluable.
There are 20 systems and services reviewed to date with the London Forex Rush review being completed and published earlier today.
There is also a thread on the new site dedicated specifically to the Easy Trade Fixed Odds Strategy (traderenka I thank you for sharing your journal with everyone and well done).
So, apologies again for the below par performance, I more than anyone, wish to get back to winning ways and I will. Thanks for your support and have a great weekend.
Do remember, your comments are important, if you decide to use this free service, please support us by using our link and by reporting back your findings, both are valuable to us and the service.
